The NJMWC shall consist of, but not be limited to, the following 24 teams:

- New teams shall be investigated by a committee appointed by the President. A majority vote of all members of the NJMWC will be necessary for admittance.
- Conference Business
- Meetings
- Conference meetings shall be called by the conference President as required.
- During the regular season, in the interest of saving time, any league business requiring a vote of members can be conducted by telephone. This will be done at the discretion of the President.
- Quorum. A quorum shall consist of at least ten (10) members. In the absence of a quorum, necessary decisions will be made by the current officers.
- Voting
- Each member team shall be entitled to one (1) vote.
- A simple majority of the members present shall be sufficient to pass a motion put to a vote. The conference President shall cast one vote in the case of a tie.
- Conference Officers. There shall be four officers of the NJMWC elected annually at the league tournament seeding meeting. The officers are President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
- The duties of the President are:
- Call and conduct all conference meetings.
- Maintain conference business.
- Prepare and distribute match schedule.
- Dispose of any other conference matters as may arise from time to time.
- Insure that the league has officers.
- The duties of the vice president are:
- Assist the President in the conduct of the NJMWC business.
- Preside at NJMWC meetings when the President is unavailable.
- Handle all publicity for the NJMWC.
- Collect, maintain and distribute match reports to all members.
- The duty of the Secretary is to maintain an accurate record of all conference meetings.
- The duties of the Treasurer are
- Handle all financial matters for the conference.
- Maintain accurate financial records of all receipts and disbursements.
- Membership fees. There shall be an annual membership fee which shall be determined by operating costs.
- Match reports.
- Submitting a match report and a weigh-in sheet for both teams shall be the responsibility of the host team and must be signed by both the home and visiting coaches. The NJYWL president must receive these reports on or before the fourth day following the respective match. Failure to comply with the aforementioned will result in one (1) team point deduction at the NJYWL Tournament per infraction.
- Wrestler's Eligibility
- In order to compete in the NJMWC matches, a wrestler must
- Be in or below the eighth grade in school.
- Not have reached their fifteenth birthday by September 1st of the current season.
- Be a resident of the locality normally served by the team's sponsoring organization in this league.
- New members may be admitted after the season begins.
- In the event that a wrestler moves during a season (between November 1st and the league tournament), they may stay on their team for that season only if allowed by the sponsor of the team.

Heavyweight
Super Heavyweight (optional)
- The heavyweight class will have a minimum weight of 140 lbs and a maximum weight of 165 lbs. A team will forfeit a bout if they do not have a heavyweight. There will also be a super heavyweight class (above 165 lbs). This is an optional weight class. The results of the super heavyweight bout will not count toward the team score unless this is mutually agreed upon by the opposing coaches at the time of the weigh in.
- Weight Class Eligibility
- The next to the lowest weight class in which a wrestler shall be eligible to compete for the season and including the tournament shall be established at the time of their first NJMWC bout. This basic weight shall be based upon actual weight.
- A wrestler may not wrestle more than one weight class above the weight class for which they qualify on that particular day.
- It is the responsibility of the coach to be sure that a wrestler weighs in at the next to the lowest weight class at which they may wish to compete during the season at the time that the wrestler weighs in for their first NJMWC match. The "weighed in" weight must be entered on the home team score book. Exception prior to January 16th by special vote only.
- Weight Progression. Weight progression will be in effect during the season in the following manner: On January 1st, there will be a one pound weight allowance. On February 1st, there will be a one pound weight allowance. These increases include the maximum for heavyweight.
- Governing Rules.
- All matches of the NJMWC shall be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations currently in force for the New Jersey High School competition as formulated by the NJSIAA except as outlined in the bylaws.
- All matches shall consist of three periods and each period shall be 1.5 minutes (1:30) in duration.
- No practice will be held before October 15th.
- Match Officials
- Match referees will be card carrying officials or cadets paid by the conference and arranged for by a coordinator hired by the conference.
- The home team will be responsible for all other officials needed to run the match. The visiting team should supply at least one score keeper to assist the home team.
- Tournament
- A championship tournament shall be held at the end of each season. Any team may apply for sponsorship. If more than one team wishes to hold the tournament, a vote of members present will decide on the location.
- The NJMWC shall be responsible for all tournament financial affairs.
- Eligibility
- A wrestler must wrestle one third of his matches at the weight class he intends to participate in at any league tournament.
- A wrestler must have wrestled at least six NJMWC matches to be eligible for the tournament. Exceptions will be voted on by the coaches during the seeding meeting.
- All NJMWC league place finishers are expected to represent the NJMWC in any end of the season interleague competition.
- To be eligible to score points in the super heavyweight (SHWT) category, there must be a minimum of four contestants in that category.
- Any Tri County Youth Wrestling League wrestler who has placed first, second or third in the current year's Tri-County Tournament may wrestle in the North Jersey Tournament provided that he has wrestled in at least eight North Jersey matches.
- Seeding Criteria
- Most wins.
- Head to head competition. In cases where three or more wrestlers have the same number of wins, this criterion will only apply if one of the wrestlers beat ALL of the others being considered.
- Winning percentage.
- Number of pins.
- Number of technical falls.
- Number of major decisions.
- Fewest wins by forfeit.
- The wrestler placing higher in the previous year's tournament. If the same finish, the wrestler returning closer to the weight class of the previous year will prevail.
- Vote of coaches.
- Awards
- Team awards will be presented to the first, second and third place finishers for the dual league season.
- Awards will be given for the first, second and third place finishers for the league tournament.
- Individual trophies will be given for the first, second, third and fourth place finishers in the varsity league tournament.
- Individual medals will be given to first, second, and third, place finishers in the JV league tournament.
